FITCHBURG
-- Emma Favreau, 9,
from Lunenburg has
only been on the
Wallace Synergy
Synchronized Skating
team for a year, but
when the team won a
gold medal at the
U.S. Eastern
Synchronized Figure
Skating
Championships last
week in New Jersey,
Favreau said it was
the "the best day of
my life."
"We were all
screaming and
shouting," said
Favreau. "I couldn't
believe we won."
"There was not a dry
eye on the team,"
said Kim Thomas,
mother of another
girl on the team.
The synchronized
skating team, part
of the Wallace
Figure Skating Club,
is a group of 27
synchronized skaters
aged 9 to 17. The
skaters practice
twice a week at the
Wallace Civic Center
and skate together,
as a group, to a
music.
